Best Ever Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/2 tsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 1/4 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1/2 c. cherry preserves
    1/2 c. applesauce
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, one at a time.
    Mix well.
    Measure spices and salt and add to flour; set aside.
    Put soda in buttermilk and add alternately with the flour mixture to the egg mixture, mixing well.
    Add vanilla.
    Slowly add the preserves, applesauce, raisins and nuts; blend well.
    Pour into three greased nine-inch pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Frost with Caramel Frosting.
