Pineapple Gooey Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yellow cake mix
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
    3 c. milk
    1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    1 c. coconut
Preparation
    Bake cake in 13 x 9-inch pan, according to the package directions.
    Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine pineapple in its own juice and sugar.
    Cook over medium heat until thick and syrupy, about 20 minutes.
