Coconut Kisses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. coconut
    2 (1 oz.) sq. semi-sweet chocolate
    dash of salt
    2 c. cornflakes
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 tsp. shortening
Preparation
    Beat egg whites with salt until foamy; gradually add sugar, beating to stiff peaks.
    Stir in vanilla, cornflakes and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto well-greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 18 to 20 minutes.
    Remove immediately to cooling rack.
    Melt two 1 ounce squares semi-sweet chocolate with 2 teaspoons shortening.
    Swirl chocolate spiral fashion atop each kiss.
