Grandma Jean'S Welsh Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    6 Tbsp. butter, cut into pieces
    1/2 c. raisins or currants
    1 large egg white
    2 Tbsp. milk
    butter and jam
Preparation
    Set aside 1 tablespoon sugar.
    Mix together remaining sugar, flour, baking powder and nutmeg.
    Add butter; rub with your fingers until fine crumbs form.
    Add raisins, egg white and milk; stir until dough holds together.
