Garlic Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. baking potatoes (about 6)
    1/4 c. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
    1 small onion, chopped
    4 medium cloves garlic, sliced
    1/4 c. potato cooking water
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Peel and cut potatoes in 2-inch chunks.
    Place in large pot of cold water.
    Bring to boil for 20 to 25 minutes or until tender.
