Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1-1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 Tbsp. hot water
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 c. broken pecan meats
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    2 c. oatmeal
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt and set aside. Cream shortening until soft.
    Add sugars and beat.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating until fluffy.
    Add hot water and vanilla.
    Add flour mixture.
    Beat until flour disappears.
    Add nuts, chocolate chips, and oatmeal.
    Mix well.
    Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
    Makes 8 dozen.
