Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. white sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Pour boiling water over oats; set aside to cool.
Cream the brown sugar, white sugar and Crisco.
Add the flour, soda, salt and spices; mix well, then add the oats mixture.
Mix thoroughly. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Add topping; return to oven to brown lightly.
