Bundt Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    5 eggs
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. coconut extract
    1 c. flaked coconut
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until light.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating 2 minutes after each addition.
    Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, along with buttermilk.
    Add extract.
    Gently fold in coconut.
    Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 50 minutes, until done.
    Loosen cake from sides of pan, but do not remove.
    Prepare topping and pour over cake.
