Pineapple Bisque - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. vanilla wafers, crushed
    3/4 lb. confectioners sugar
    2 1/2 pt. whipped cream
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 (4 oz.) bottle maraschino cherries
    1/2 lb. butter
    4 egg yolks
    4 egg whites
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks and vanilla.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Line a 14 x 16-inch pan with half the wafer crumbs.
    Spread beaten mixture on this.
    Add layer of pineapple.
    Add chopped cherries.
    Spread whipped cream evenly. Sprinkle with nuts.
    Add remainder of crushed wafers as crust. Chill 12 hours.
