Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4-inch thick sliced onions
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 c. sifted self-rising flour
Preparation
    Combine milk, egg and oil; stir in flour and mix well.
    Allow batter to stand 15 minutes.
    Dip onion rings into batter.
    Fry in deep fat until golden; drain on paper towels.
    Sprinkle with salt. Batter may also be used for chicken or shrimp.
