Peanut Brittle(Church Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. Karo
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 pkg. raw peanuts
    1 1/2 Tbsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    In a glass, put soda, butter and salt.
    Set aside until later. Put sugar, Karo and water in a 3-quart pot.
    Cook until syrup spins a thread.
    Add peanuts and cook until syrup turns caramel in color.
    Remove from heat.
    Add soda mixture and stir.
    Pour quickly on foil and spread.
    Let cool and break into pieces.
