Chocolate Fudge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1 egg
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
9 walnut halves
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Add egg, beating well.
Set aside.
Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with 3/4 cup water, beating after each addition.
Spread batter in greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Sprinkle with chocolate morsels.
Arrange walnut halves over top.
Bake 30 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched.
