Strawberry Kringle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. strawberry flavored gelatin
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. strawberries, mashed
    1 (12 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 pkg. white or yellow cake mix
    whipped cream or other topping
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
    Cool.
    Add sugar; stir until dissolved.
    Gently stir in strawberries and sour cream. Refrigerate overnight.
    Bake packaged cake mix according to directions on box (2 layers).
    Cool.
    Split layers into 4 layers. Put layers together with container in refrigerator.
    Chill for 3 to 4 days.
