Apple Butter Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. apple butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together 3 times. Cream the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and cream together until light and fluffy. Blend
in apple butter and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream. Turn half the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with half the topping.
Spoon remaining batter into pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with remaining topping. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold, plain or with sweetened and flavored whipped cream.
Makes 12 squares.
