Favorite Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients; blend molasses and boiling water. Sift flour, soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon.
    Beat all until smooth.
    Batter is thin.
    Pour into 9 x 9-inch pan, greased.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
