Ingredients

1 c. dark brown sugar
1/4 c. melted butter
1 egg, well beaten
1 scant c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. nut meats
Preparation

Cream together the brown sugar and butter.
Add the egg.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Add and mix with sugar and butter.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Pour into greased 8-inch square tin.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Cut into squares.
Yields 16.
