Chicken Marengo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut up
    1/4 c. oil
    14 1/2 oz. stewed tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 c. mushrooms
    1/2 c. sliced olives
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. each: parsley flakes, onion flakes and celery flakes
Preparation
    Brown chicken lightly in oil; drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients; blend well and pour over chicken.
    Simmer 35 to 40 minutes or until tender.
