Poor Man'S Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. cold water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 pkg. seedless raisins
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. flour

Preparation

Let all ingredients except flour come to boil; remove from the fire.
Cool, then stir in flour.
Let bake 1 1/4 hours in a slow oven (350\u00b0).
