Old-Fashioned Southern Corn Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 ears corn
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced crosswise
    1/2 c. thinly sliced onion
    4 eggs
    2 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 c. sliced cooked ham or diced chicken (optional)
Preparation
    Cut kernels from cobs to yield about 3 1/3 cups corn.
    In a large skillet, melt butter.
    Add corn, green pepper and onion. Cook and stir for 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat and set aside.
