1 c. shortening
1 c. peanut butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour
2 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
4 c. quick cooking oats
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Cream together shortening, peanut butter, and vanilla. Add sugar gradually. Cream until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Mix well and add oats. Stir into creamed mixture alternating with milk. Add nuts, dates or raisins if desired. Spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
