Mom'S Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    2 whole eggs
    2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. white vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 oz. red food coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tablespoon vanilla
    1 Tbsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar and eggs.
    Make a paste of food coloring and cocoa.
    Add to the creamed mixture.
    Add alternately buttermilk with sifted flour and salt.
    Add vanilla.
    Add soda to vinegar.
    (Hold over bowl it will foam.)
    Add the soda and vinegar, blending instead of beating.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes in greased and floured pan.
    Cool.
    Split each layer into 2 layers and frost and add each layer back on top of each other after frosted.
