Lazy Beef Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck
    1/2 c. red wine
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed consomme
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1/4 c. sifted flour
    vegetables (optional)
Preparation
    Cut beef into 2-inch pieces.
    In 3-quart casserole dish, combine beef, wine, consomme, salt, pepper and onion.
    Mix together bread crumbs and flour and stir into casserole mixture; cover.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 about 3 hours or until beef is tender.
    If desired, vegetables (potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas) may be added about 1/2 hour before serving time.
    Serves 4.
