Old-Fashioned Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. white corn meal
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 large eggs, separated
1 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation

Combine corn meal, salt and 1 cup milk in 1 1/2-quart saucepan.
Heat remaining milk and add.
Stir and cook over medium heat until smooth and thick.
Stir in baking powder.
Beat egg yolks and egg whites separately.
Gradually stir in egg yolks. Fold in egg whites.
Melt margarine in 1 1/2-quart baking pan, 9 x 9 x 2-inch.
Pour.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 40 minutes.
Serve with butter.
Serves 6.
