Pastry Mix (Flaky Pie Crust) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    10 Tbsp. shortening
    6 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Sift flour once and measure.
    Add salt and sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl.
    Add shortening and cut it lightly and quickly into the flour until lumps of fat are about size of peas and are evenly coated with flour.
    Add cold water (ice water is preferable).
    Sprinkle water into flour and fat mixture, about a teaspoon at a time and mix lightly until firm ball of dough is formed.
    If possible, chill dough before rolling out.
    Roll pastry on lightly floured board until it is about 1/8-inch in thickness. Fit dough loosely, yet closely, into pan.
