St. Nicholas Day Cookies(December 6) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (margarine)
    1 c. Crisco (shortening)
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
    Add sour cream alternately with dry ingredients.
    Stir in the nuts.
    Knead dough into rolls.
    Wrap the rolls in wax paper and chill in refrigerator overnight.
    Roll dough very thin; cut into shapes (St. Nicholas, birds, fish, animals, etc.).
    Bake in moderate oven at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
