Ingredients

2 sticks margarine, softened
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. chocolate chips
2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
2 eggs, beaten
Preparation

Cream margarine with sugars, eggs; add salt, vanilla and soda, all at once.
Stir in flour until all is blended together.
Add chips
and\tnuts
and stir again.
Wet your hands and using 1 heaping
teaspoonful
for
each
cookie,
roll in hands until round.
Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for
about
12
minutes.
Remove
to
wire rack to cool. These are even better when baked in a convection oven at 375\u00b0for 12 minutes.
Yield: about 48 cookies
