Southern Gal Biscuits(Arkansas Best) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, unbeaten
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift or mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tartar into bowl.
    Add shortening to flour mixture.
    Blend together.
    Pour milk into flour mixture slowly.
    Add egg.
    Stir to a stiff dough.
    Knead 5 times.
    Roll to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
