Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped mild onion
    1 1/4 c. frozen peas
    1 chopped green pepper
    10 oz. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    2 c. Kraft mayonnaise
    3 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 jar imitation bacon pieces
Preparation
    Boil peas for 2 minutes. Drain and let cool.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar together.
    Set aside.
    In a large clear bowl, layer lettuce (torn into bite size pieces), onion, peas, green pepper and cheese.
    Lightly press cheese down. Carefully spread mayonnaise mix evenly over cheese.
    Sprinkle with bacon bits. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
