Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 to 2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar.
    Blend in egg.
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to mixture.
    Add vanilla. Divide dough into two parts.
    Chill 1 to 2 hours, so dough will be easy to handle.
    Roll dough, one part at a time, to 1/8 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters.
    Keep other part refrigerated until ready to roll.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
