Breakfast Casserole - cooking recipe

12 slices white bread
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 lb. sausage
8 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
4 eggs
3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Trim crusts from bread.
Spread with butter.
Arrange 6 slices buttered bread in greased rectangular 3-quart baking dish.
Brown sausage, stirring until crumbly; drain.
Layer half of sausage and cheese over bread.
Add remaining bread, sausage and cheese.
Beat eggs with milk, dry mustard and salt.
Pour over casserole.
Chill overnight.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes, until set.
