Cooked Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small or medium head cabbage (1 qt. chopped or shredded)
    1/2 c. green bell peppers, chopped
    1/2 c. grated carrots
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. prepared mustard
    2 c. celery
Preparation
    From a small or medium head of cabbage, chop or shred enough to equal 1 quart.
    Add the bell peppers, carrots and 1 tablespoon salt.
    Soak this mixture for 1 hour, then drain.
    Take the sugar, vinegar, 1/2 cup water and prepared mustard.
    Let come to a boil. Let cool.
    Add the celery.
    Pour this mixture over the drained cabbage mix.
    Put in jars; keep refrigerated.
