Baked Pepper-Cheese Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. fresh summer squash or 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen squash
    8 slices bacon
    1 large onion, cut in rings
    1 roll (brick) jalapeno cheese, cut up
    bread crumbs
Preparation
    Boil squash.
    Fry bacon until crisp and remove from pan. Brown onion rings in some of the bacon drippings.
    Crumble bacon. Layer one half of squash, bacon, onion rings and cheese in a 9 x 9-inch shallow baking dish.
    Repeat until ingredients are used up. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes. Serves 10.
