Mom'S Sugar Cookies(Tea Cakes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. lard *
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    1/2 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Cream lard, sugar and eggs.
    Sift 2 cups flour with soda, salt and nutmeg.
    Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milks.
    Add enough more flour to make a dough as soft as can be handled.
    Roll out rather thin.
    Cut with a large cookie cutter.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until just firm to touch.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
