Mary Jeanette'S Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 to 4 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, shortening and unbeaten eggs well.
    Add warm water with soda dissolved and vanilla; mix, then add flour until dough is stiff enough to handle with hands.
    Roll up in little balls and press fairly flat with a fancy bottom of dish dipped in granulated sugar.
