Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions, chopped
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. bell pepper powder
    2 bell peppers, chopped
    1 lb. lean hamburger meat
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine meat, onion and bell pepper; cook until meat is browned.
    Drain off excess fat.
    Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings and mix well.
    Pour into a large greased casserole.
    Cover and bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Can add grated cheese to top casserole and bake until cheese melts.
