Yum-Yum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box raisins
    4 c. water, divided
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. powdered cloves
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 1/2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Boil the raisins in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes.
    Take from heat and add the remaining 2 cups of water.
    Let stand until lukewarm.
    Pour raisin mixture into a mixing bowl; add the sugar, shortening, cinnamon, cloves, salt, vanilla, flour and baking soda.
    Mix well by hand.
    Pour into well-greased pan (tube or Bundt) and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
    Check (test) and if not done, bake a bit longer, checking frequently until cake is done.
