Meaty Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 large onion, chopped
1 or 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 lb. ground beef or sausage
1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 c. milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 can cream-style corn
Preparation

Brown meat with the onion.
Drain well.
Mix cornmeal, oil, milk, eggs, salt, soda and cream-style corn.
Pour half of cornmeal mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Add meat and onion mix, spreading evenly across dish.
Sprinkle cheese and jalapenos over meat.
Add remaining cornmeal mixture.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
