Frosted Cranberry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (13 1/2 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon jello
    1 (7 oz.) bottle ginger ale
    1 (1 lb.) can jellied cranberry sauce
    1 container Cool Whip
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Drain pineapple (save syrup).
    Add water to syrup to make 1 cup.
    Heat to a boil.
    Dissolve jello in hot liquid; cool.
    Gently stir in ginger ale; chill to partially set.
