Frangainbo Pirpiri (Broiled Marinated Chicken)(Mozambique) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. finely crumbled, dried, hot red chilies
    3 large garlic cloves, peeled and coarsely chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. strained, fresh lemon juice
    1 c. peanut or vegetable oil
    1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) chicken, cut into 8 serving pieces
Preparation
    Combine the
    chilies,
    garlic and 1/2 cup of the oil in the jar
    of
    an electric blender and blend at high speed until the seasonings\tare
    thoroughly pulverized.
    Pour the mixture into a large,
    shallow
    glass
    baking
    dish
    and
    stir in the remaining 1/2
    cup
    of oil, the lemon juice and the salt.
    (To make the marinade
    by hand, pound the chilies and garlic to a paste with a mortar and pestle or in a bowl with the back of a spoon. Gradually beat in the oil, lemon juice and salt.)
