Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. shortening
1 large egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda together with 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. pecans

Preparation

Cream shortening; mix with sugar, egg and applesauce.
Add flour, salt, spices, soda and hot water.
Mix well and add chopped nuts.
Bake in large pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
