Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 can pineapple slices
    3/4 c. juice from can of slices
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 small jar maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Cream together shortening and sugar; add beaten eggs.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to mixture along with juice. Mix well.
    Simmer in 9-inch skillet butter and sugar; arrange pineapple slices on top of butter and sugar.
    Place cherry in center of each slice; pour batter over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    Turn out at once.
    Have been baking this since 1971.
