Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. corn meal (self-rising)
2 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks are formed.
Into a large mixing bowl, put the corn meal and slowly add the boiling water, stirring continuously.
Add butter, egg yolks and milk and stir or beat well.
Fold egg whites into batter and pour into an 8 or 9-inch cake pan.
Bake for 40 minutes at 400\u00b0 or until done.
As the bread will be very soft, it is traditionally served using a spoon.
