Springtime Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 red apples, unpeeled and diced
    1 c. finely sliced celery
    1/2 c. finely diced cucumbers
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sour cream or mayonnaise
    crisp salad greens
Preparation
    Put the apples, celery and cucumbers in a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice, distributing evenly over all pieces to prevent browning.
    Sprinkle with sugar and salt; mix well.
    Cover and chill until serving time.
    Fold in the sour cream or mayonnaise.
    Line salad bowl with crisp greens and arrange salad over it.
    Serves 4 to 6.
