Ingredients

1 can sliced beets
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. butter (optional)
Preparation

Mix sugar and cornstarch.
Add vinegar and water; boil for 5 minutes.
Add beets to hot sauce and let stand at least 30 minutes.
Add butter, if desired.
