Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. vegetable shortening
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Sift together flour, salt and baking soda.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Add chocolate chips.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven until cookies are brown around edge but centers are not done, 8 to 9 minutes.
Makes 96 cookies.
