Risen Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 1/2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. shortening
1 cake yeast
3/4 c. sweet milk
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Cut in shortening.
Dissolve the yeast in 1 tablespoon warm water.
Put all liquids in dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
Turn out on floured board.
Roll thin.
cut round.
Stack one on another.
Brush with melted butter on top and between layers.
Let rise about 2 hours before baking. Bake 12 to 14 minutes in a 400\u00b0 oven.
Watch closely.
