1-2-3-4 Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oleo or shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Sift dry ingredients 3 times.
    Add vanilla and milk to creamed mixture, beating until smooth.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold in mixture.
    Pour in greased and floured pan or wax lined pan.
    Makes 3 (9-inch) cakes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
