Old-Fashion Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. maple syrup
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. broken pecan pieces
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    3 eggs, lightly whipped
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Add syrup, sugar and margarine in saucepan.
    Boil gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Cool slightly.
    Place the broken pecan pieces in the pie shell.
    Mix the eggs, vanilla and salt together, then slowly stir in the cooled syrup.
    Pour over the pecans.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
    Cool on rack.
    Serves 8.
