Ham-Potato Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. diced celery
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
2 c. diced, cooked ham (about 1 lb.)
2 c. diced potatoes
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 c. water
2 c. milk or less
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, drained and cut up
Preparation

Melt butter in large kettle.
Add onion, celery, garlic salt and ham.
Cook until onion and celery are tender, but not browned. Add potatoes, salt, chili powder and water.
Simmer until potatoes are tender.
Add milk and tomatoes.
Heat, but do not boil.
A little less milk might be preferred.
Serves 6.
