Delores' Yellow Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium yellow onion
    3 pounds yellow squash
    1 cup crushed saltine crackers
    1/2 cup butter, melted
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1 large egg beaten or 2 medium eggs
    1 1/2 pounds shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Slice squash and onion into bite size pieces; steam until tender.
    Drain.
    Add crackers, egg, butter, salt, pepper and 3/4 pound shredded cheese. Place mixture into greased 9 1/2x11 inch pan.
    Top with remainder of cheese.
    Bake in 350 degrees for about 30 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
    Serves a crowd.
